Posebnosti poslovanja z LatAm // Peculiarities of doing business with LatAm

­čîÄ Latinska Amerika (┬╗LatAm┬ź) je kontinuirano dele┼żna velike mednarodne pozornosti v smislu poslovanja, med drugim tudi iz razlogov, ki sem se jih dotaknila v svoji prej┼ínji objavi. Toda, preden zavihamo rokave kar zadeva ┼íiritve poslovanja v LatAm, je klju─Źno, da se podu─Źimo in upo┼ítevamo dolo─Źene razlike med evropskim in latinoameri┼íkim poslovnim okoljem. ­čĺí

–         Odnosi, odnosi, odnosi

Poslovanje v LatAm temelji na odnosih. To pomeni, da je investiranje ─Źasa v vzpostavljanje prijateljstev, krepitev poslovnih vezi, spoznavanje na┼íih sodelavcev itd. izjemnega pomena, ko razmi┼íljamo o raz┼íiritvi poslovanja v LatAm. Brez prvotno vzpostavljenega odnosa na osebni ravni in pogostih osebnih sre─Źanj s strankami in partnerji, bomo te┼żko dosegli uspeh. V LatAm morajo tako podjetja vzpostavljanje odnosov definirati kot prednostno nalogo. 

–         Znanje jezika veliko ┼íteje

Kot ┼że poudarjeno, poslovanje v LatAm temelji na odnosih in sposobnost komuniciranja v ┼ípan┼í─Źini (ali/in portugal┼í─Źini) je klju─Źnega pomena, saj nas pribli┼ża na┼íi ciljni publiki. Poleg tega ve─Źina ljudi v LatAm ne govori (teko─Źe) angle┼íko. Nadalje pa znanje ┼ípan┼í─Źine (ali/in portugal┼í─Źine) ka┼że tudi na predanost vklju─Źevanju v zadevno dr┼żavo in ozave┼í─Źenost o latinoameri┼íki kulturi, kar je vse izrednega pomena za tamkaj┼ínje ljudi.

–         Poka┼żimo in pri─Źakujmo toplino

Ste navajeni, da so poslovni odnosi strogo poslovni? No, to ne bo delovalo v LatAm! Latinoameri─Źani so na splo┼íno izjemno topli in prijazni, tudi ko gre za poslovne odnose. Prejemanje osebnih vpra┼íanj je v LatAm veliko bolj pogosto kot pogovarjanje o vremenu (small talk). Slednje na┼íemu sogovorniku omogo─Źa, da nas bolje spozna in tako omogo─Źa hitrej┼íe vzpostavljanje odnosa, ki je, kot re─Źeno, nepogre┼íljivo za uspe┼íno poslovanje v LatAm.

­čîÄ Latin America (ÔÇťLatAmÔÇŁ) continues to receive a lot of international attention in terms of business, among other things, for the reasons I touched on in my previous post. However, before rolling up our sleeves in terms of expanding our business to LatAm, it is crucial to learn and take into account certain differences between the European and LatAm business environments. ­čĺí

–         Relationships, relationships, relationships

Business in LatAm is relationship based. This being said, when considering to expand business to LatAm, investing time in establishing friendships, strengthening business ties, getting to know our collaborators etc. is of utmost importance. Without first of all building a rapport on a personal level as well as frequently meeting face-to-face with clients and partners, we will have a hard time being successful. In LatAam, businesses must thus make relationship building their utmost priority.

–         Knowing the language counts big time

As already stressed out, business in LatAm is relationship based and having the ability to communicate in Spanish (or/and Portuguese) is crucial, as it brings us closer to our target audience. Besides, most people in LatAm don’t speak (fluent) English. Also, having a proficiency in speaking Spanish (or/and Portuguese) shows a dedication to integrate into the respective country as well as an awareness of LatAm culture, all of which is of great importance to local people.

–         Show and expect warmth

Are you used to business relationships being strictly business? Well, this is not going to work in LatAm! Latin Americans are generally extremely warm and friendly, including when it comes to business relationships. Receiving personal questions rather than small-taking about the weather is a common thing in LatAm. The latter enables our interlocutor to get to know us better and thus enables quicker relationship-building, which is, as said, indispensable for a successful business in LatAm.

These are just some of the many peculiarities of doing business with the LatAm world that I personally find interesting. – ÔŁô Which ones would you point out?
