🌎 Latinska Amerika (»LatAm«) je kontinuirano deležna velike mednarodne pozornosti v smislu poslovanja, med drugim tudi iz razlogov, ki sem se jih dotaknila v svoji prejšnji objavi. Toda, preden zavihamo rokave kar zadeva širitve poslovanja v LatAm, je ključno, da se podučimo in upoštevamo določene razlike med evropskim in latinoameriškim poslovnim okoljem. 💡
– Odnosi, odnosi, odnosi
Poslovanje v LatAm temelji na odnosih. To pomeni, da je investiranje časa v vzpostavljanje prijateljstev, krepitev poslovnih vezi, spoznavanje naših sodelavcev itd. izjemnega pomena, ko razmišljamo o razširitvi poslovanja v LatAm. Brez prvotno vzpostavljenega odnosa na osebni ravni in pogostih osebnih srečanj s strankami in partnerji, bomo težko dosegli uspeh. V LatAm morajo tako podjetja vzpostavljanje odnosov definirati kot prednostno nalogo.
– Znanje jezika veliko šteje
Kot že poudarjeno, poslovanje v LatAm temelji na odnosih in sposobnost komuniciranja v španščini (ali/in portugalščini) je ključnega pomena, saj nas približa naši ciljni publiki. Poleg tega večina ljudi v LatAm ne govori (tekoče) angleško. Nadalje pa znanje španščine (ali/in portugalščine) kaže tudi na predanost vključevanju v zadevno državo in ozaveščenost o latinoameriški kulturi, kar je vse izrednega pomena za tamkajšnje ljudi.
– Pokažimo in pričakujmo toplino
Ste navajeni, da so poslovni odnosi strogo poslovni? No, to ne bo delovalo v LatAm! Latinoameričani so na splošno izjemno topli in prijazni, tudi ko gre za poslovne odnose. Prejemanje osebnih vprašanj je v LatAm veliko bolj pogosto kot pogovarjanje o vremenu (small talk). Slednje našemu sogovorniku omogoča, da nas bolje spozna in tako omogoča hitrejše vzpostavljanje odnosa, ki je, kot rečeno, nepogrešljivo za uspešno poslovanje v LatAm.

🌎 Latin America (“LatAm”) continues to receive a lot of international attention in terms of business, among other things, for the reasons I touched on in my previous post. However, before rolling up our sleeves in terms of expanding our business to LatAm, it is crucial to learn and take into account certain differences between the European and LatAm business environments. 💡
– Relationships, relationships, relationships
Business in LatAm is relationship based. This being said, when considering to expand business to LatAm, investing time in establishing friendships, strengthening business ties, getting to know our collaborators etc. is of utmost importance. Without first of all building a rapport on a personal level as well as frequently meeting face-to-face with clients and partners, we will have a hard time being successful. In LatAam, businesses must thus make relationship building their utmost priority.
– Knowing the language counts big time
As already stressed out, business in LatAm is relationship based and having the ability to communicate in Spanish (or/and Portuguese) is crucial, as it brings us closer to our target audience. Besides, most people in LatAm don’t speak (fluent) English. Also, having a proficiency in speaking Spanish (or/and Portuguese) shows a dedication to integrate into the respective country as well as an awareness of LatAm culture, all of which is of great importance to local people.
– Show and expect warmth
Are you used to business relationships being strictly business? Well, this is not going to work in LatAm! Latin Americans are generally extremely warm and friendly, including when it comes to business relationships. Receiving personal questions rather than small-taking about the weather is a common thing in LatAm. The latter enables our interlocutor to get to know us better and thus enables quicker relationship-building, which is, as said, indispensable for a successful business in LatAm.
